Hi Michelle, thanks for coming over to my blog! I really appreciate your words. I've actually been really confused about what could be a realistic goal for me. This is my first marathon, I will be be only 7.5 months postpartum and am basically new to running. Also, once a pace is even determined, shouldn't there be some formula to use to figure out how long you can run at that decided pace? Running for 26.2, as you pointed out, will be entirely different. ???
Anyway, lots to figure out and based on Emilie's blog and your entry I think I should just try to make it fun. Truly. I'm just not sure THAT is realistic for me:)
Michelle, I got so teary as I read this--darn you! You did it and if everything went according to plan, seriously, what would there be to write? Also, why is it that only a sister can make you laugh like that when you most need it? Don't get me wrong, husbands are fodder for good laughing material, but a sister can make you laugh at yourself and laugh at the situation you find yourself in, like none other! Love that Meredith did this with you. Maybe one day I'll be out there with you. I can't wait to see you at Thanksgiving and hear more of the details! xoxoxx Paige
Brooke, I was 8.5 months postpartum and my advice to you (as you read in Michelle's story) - make sure you figure out what's going on with nature and your body before your marathon!
